PirmaPinas is a Filipino lifestyle brand turning Baybayin and Badlit (Suwat Bisaya) into clothing & accessories for Filipinos living abroad.

The Origin

Every Filipino clothing brand you've found abroad has given you the Philippines in general: loud merchandise for tourists, a Manila story told as if it were everyone's story. If you were from the Visayas, or second-gen, or simply wanted to wear your roots without a lecture attached, nothing fit.

We started PirmaPinas to fill it. Clothing that knows the difference between Tagalog and Bisaya. Designs OFWs and diaspora Filipinos can wear without having to explain.

Meet the Artist

Aster Sapayla built PirmaPinas. Born in Baybay, Leyte, he started as a tattoo artist. That background put a specific weight on symbols. A tattoo artist knows: you'd better mean what you put on someone's body.

It led him deep into pre-colonial Filipino scripts, particularly Badlit (Suwat Bisaya), the traditional writing system of the Visayas, now preserved by only a handful of advocates. Every PirmaPinas design comes from that research.

The Mission
