What is Badlit (Suwat Bisaya)?

Badlit is the ancient Philippine syllabic writing system of the Visayas, the hand of Cebuano and the wider Bisaya world. While it shares the same underlying logic as Tagalog scripts, it is distinguished by unique character shapes. Wear it and you carry Visayan identity, written in its own form.

How do I choose between Baybayin and Badlit?

Choose by the language closest to you. Tagalog speakers usually reach for Baybayin; Cebuano and Bisaya speakers often find themselves in Badlit (Suwat Bisaya). Both are Filipino and both carry the same diwa (spirit). Buying a gift and not sure of their roots? Baybayin is the one most Filipinos recognize.
