The Origin

Every Filipino clothing brand you've found abroad has given you the Philippines in general: loud merchandise for tourists, a Manila story told as if it were everyone's story. If you were from the Visayas, or second-gen, or simply wanted to wear your roots without a lecture attached, nothing fit.

We started PirmaPinas to fill it. Clothing that knows the difference between Tagalog and Bisaya. Designs OFWs and diaspora Filipinos can wear without having to explain.

Badlit (Suwat Bisaya) is the traditional pre-colonial writing system of the Visayas, related to Baybayin. It was used across Visayan-speaking regions of the Philippines and is now preserved by only a small number of cultural advocates. PirmaPinas is one of the only Filipino clothing brands designing with Badlit.

PirmaPinas is for Filipinos living abroad who want to wear their heritage without looking like a tourist. The brand also ships to non-Filipinos looking for a Filipino cultural gift with a real story behind it.
